True North Alpine Mastery — Development Cycle in Austria

A Week of Focused Ski Development for Up to Three Skiers

Experience a True North Alpine Mastery Development Cycle in Austria—a focused, small-group coaching experience designed for skiers who are serious about improving their skiing and developing their skills over the long term.

The winning bidder receives coaching for up to three skiers. You may participate on your own or bring up to two additional participants—friends, family members, or other skiers who meet skiing and fitness requirements of the Development Cycle.

This is not a traditional ski lesson package, guided ski holiday, or high-volume ski camp. The Development Cycle is structured around identifying the highest-value areas for improvement, developing effective movement patterns, and progressively applying those skills in varied terrain and conditions.

What Is Included

The auction prize provides one True North Alpine Mastery Development Cycle for up to three participants, including:

  • 5–6 days of structured on-snow coaching in Austria

  • Approximately 25 hours of on-snow training and guided practice

  • One coach for the winning group of 1–3 participants

  • Technical assessment and identification of individual development priorities

  • Focused technical coaching and deliberate practice

  • Progressive application of skills across appropriate terrain, speed and conditions

  • Guidance for independent practice between coached sessions

  • Two associated physical-training sessions designed to connect athletic preparation with skiing

  • An introduction to the True North Alpine Mastery approach to long-term ski development

The Development Cycle may include additional participants, up to a maximum of six, subject to availability and suitability. If additional participants are included, the coaching structure will be adjusted appropriately.

Number of Participants

The auction prize covers up to three participants.

The winning bidder may:

  • participate alone;

  • bring one additional participant; or

  • bring two additional participants.

All participants must be approved by True North Alpine Mastery before the Development Cycle. Additional places in the Development Cycle may be made available to other suitable participants.

What Is Not Included

Participants are responsible for all costs associated with attending the Development Cycle, including:

  • Transportation to and within Austria

  • Airfare

  • Accommodation

  • Lift tickets or ski passes

  • Ski and safety equipment

  • Ski rental, if required

  • Meals and beverages

  • Travel, medical and other insurance

  • Personal expenses

  • Any costs associated with extending the trip beyond the Development Cycle

The Development Cycle itself is the donated coaching experience; participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel and associated expenses.

Participants Responsibilities

Participants are expected to take an active role in their development.

This includes:

  • Arriving appropriately prepared and ready to ski

  • Providing accurate information about skiing background, experience and goals

  • Participating in the full Development Cycle to the extent reasonably possible

  • Following reasonable coaching, safety and training guidance

  • Managing their own equipment and personal travel arrangements

  • Taking responsibility for their own physical condition and preparation

  • Engaging in independent practice and reflection where appropriate

  • Respecting fellow participants, coaches and the training environment

The Development Cycle is built around learning quality rather than simply accumulating ski time. Participants should therefore be prepared to practice deliberately, receive feedback, make adjustments and work progressively rather than simply ski continuously.

Who Is This For?

The Development Cycle is intended for intermediate-to-advanced adult skiers who are comfortable skiing a range of marked terrain and are motivated to make meaningful technical progress.

It is particularly suited to skiers who:

  • Want to become substantially better skiers over time

  • Are interested in developing toward an advanced or expert level

  • Enjoy learning and practicing technical skills

  • Are prepared to work on specific movement patterns rather than simply ski more terrain

  • Are willing to take responsibility for their own development

  • Appreciate a structured, professional coaching environment

  • Are physically prepared for several days of alpine skiing

This is not intended as an introductory learn-to-ski program, nor is it designed primarily as a recreational ski holiday.

Suitability and Acceptance

Because the Development Cycle is a focused coaching program, all participants are subject to a brief suitability assessment before participation.

The winning bidder will be asked to provide basic information about each participant's:

  • Skiing experience and current ability

  • Terrain they are comfortable skiing

  • Previous coaching experience

  • Physical preparation

  • Development goals

True North Alpine Mastery will work with the winning bidder to determine whether the participants are suitable for the Development Cycle and, where appropriate, how they should be grouped.

The purpose of this process is to ensure that the coaching environment is appropriate for everyone involved.

If the Winning Bidder Is Not Suitable

If the winning bidder, or the proposed participants, are determined not to be suitable for this particular Development Cycle, the prize will be offered to the next highest bidder who meets the suitability requirements, subject to that bidder's agreement to accept the prize under the same terms.

This ensures that the donated Development Cycle can be provided to a participant for whom the program is an appropriate fit.

The suitability assessment will be based on the requirements described in this auction listing and will take place before participation is confirmed.

Timing and Location

The Development Cycle will take place in Austria during the agreed ski season, on mutually agreed dates and subject to coaching availability, snow conditions and operational considerations.

The specific ski area or areas will be selected based on the objectives of the Development Cycle and prevailing conditions.

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.

About True North Alpine Mastery

True North Alpine Mastery is a member-based alpine ski Development System built for serious skiers who want to improve through structured training, deliberate practice and long-term progression.

A Development Cycle is one phase within that larger process: focused technical development on snow, supported by physical preparation, appropriate training load, recovery and continued practice.

The goal is not simply to have a great week of skiing. It is to leave with a clearer understanding of your skiing, meaningful technical development, and a direction for what comes next.
